The pandemic rocked the restaurant industry. And while many were able to survive off delivery alone, others were not. Loved restaurants all across the country had to permanently close their doors, and no one was hit harder than Black-owned businesses, which were shutting down twice as fast as other businesses. We encouraged DoorDash on a simple but ambitious goal: Resurrect a loved Black-owned restaurant that had shut down due to COVID-19, providing them all the resources necessary to get back on their feet and serve their community once again.
